Mardi Paw: Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control Benefit

Fat Tuesday - Feb. 28 - is almost upon us and Trader Todd’s is celebrating Mardi Gras with their annual Mardi Paw party. The $20 at the door will get you two drink tickets which are good for draft beer, wine, well drinks, Mardi Gras drinks - Hurricane and the Red Rooster - and a Cajun-inspired buffet including vegan options. All proceeds will go to the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control (FCACC).

The Mardi Paw party will be on Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 6-8 p.m. The memorable night will feature our famous karaoke as well as a raffle conducted by volunteers from the FCACC! Prizes will include a cocktail flight for two at Room 13; a one-night stay at the Old Chicago Inn; and a party for 20 at Trader Todd’s!

Our limited time Mardi Gras menu will also be available during the party. The special menu runs from Feb. 27 through March 5. See below for the full Mardi Gras menu!

Vegan Dirty Rice ($8) Don’t like meat? No problem. This vegan dirty rice will sate anyone’s party-induced hunger. Your tastebuds will discover hints of bell pepper, celery, red onion, portobello mushroom, pineapple and green onion.

Shrimp Po Boy ($10) This New Orleans classic is here to add a little flare to your week. The dashes of green onion aioli, romaine lettuce, house-pickled relish and a brioche sauce, give you another reason to wish Mardi Gras lasted for more than a day.

Boudin Blanc Sausage ($9) Roasted red pepper mayo, arugula, cajun pickled carrots and brioche all piled in with a house-made sausage will make this dish the highlight of your Mardi Gras.

Fettuccine Pasta ($9) This house-made pasta has a trick up its sleeve. It’s made with a tabasco cream sauce to heat up your night. The pasta is complimented by the flavors of chicken and Cajun holy trinity vegetables.
